Sivantos, Inc., the Signia hearing aid brand’s parent company, participated in a philanthropic event last month in support of the Children’s Charities Association of Singapore. Overall, close to 300 employees and their family members walked three kilometers to support the association’s goal of helping physically, mentally, and socially disadvantaged children.
Headquartered in Singapore, Sivantos was the main sponsor of this annual walkathon, reinforcing the company’s mission to give back to the community and drive corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities around the globe. Led by CEO Ignacio Martinez, all employees were encouraged to join the event with their families, along with hundreds of participants from the public, to support the special needs community.
The marketing team even had a social media photo frame, complete with hashtags and “like” signs, so everyone could take fun pictures while supporting a worthy cause.
The walkathon raised funds for underprivileged children under the care of the six member organizations of the Children’s Charities Association:
- Singapore Children’s Society
- Singapore Association for the Deaf
- Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore
- Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore
- Andrew’s Mission Hospital
- Association for Persons with Special Needs
Following the walkathon, participants were treated to dances and musical performances by many of the beneficiaries themselves. Employees also received gift bags for their participation, including t-shirts and other souvenirs, and Martinez received a special award from Mohammed Abdullah Alhabshee, husband of Singapore’s President Halimah Yacob.
